Job Summary:

The Parts Sales Representative plays a crucial role in supporting organizational objectives by collaborating with various departments, managing tasks independently, and actively seeking sales opportunities to grow the exchange and remanufactured business. This role involves engaging with customers, providing solutions, and serving as a liaison between technical teams and customers to optimize sales opportunities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with various departments within the organization to align sales strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Independently manage tasks, including problem-solving and resolution of customer complaints, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare accurate estimates based on customer requirements and pricing guidelines.
  • Proactively upsell parts and solutions to customers while actively seeking new sales opportunities to expand the exchange and remanufactured business.
  • Collaborate with the Parts Order Fulfillment team to process customer orders promptly.
  • Work closely with the marketing team on campaigns, projects, and sales initiatives to effectively promote products and services.
  • Maintain regular communication with vendors to obtain updated pricing and availability.
  • Research and identify new parts and potential vendors to expand product offerings.
  • Act as a liaison between the technical teams and customers, ensuring that customer needs are understood and translated into optimized sales opportunities.
  • Provide timely follow-up on estimates, addressing customer inquiries and concerns professionally via phone and email.
  • Proactively engage with customers to improve satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Maintain accurate records by uploading data into the IDM (Integrated Data Management) system to track customer interactions, sales progress, and performance metrics.
  • Provide weekly updates during team meetings, reporting on sales activities, challenges, and opportunities, and escalate issues as needed.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required to meet the dynamic needs of the sales team and the organization.

Requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

This role is pivotal in driving parts sales growth and maintaining strong customer relationships. Success in this position requires excellent customer service, and collaboration across departments to achieve sales goals and customer satisfaction.

  • Understanding of parts terminology, specifications, and applications within the marine and/or power generation industry.
  • Strong time management abilities to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong dedication to providing exceptional service and building positive relationships with customers.
  • Cross-functional and cross-departmental collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Disciplined and organized approach to processing tasks and maintaining records.
  • Ability to handle multiple orders and tasks concurrently in a timely manner.
  • Detail-oriented mindset, ensuring accuracy in quotes, proposals, and documentation.
  • Advanced computer skills preferred, including proficiency in relevant software applications.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in parts sales.
  • 2-5 years of experience in marine and/or power generation market segments.
  • Experience in handling customer inquiries and managing customer relationships is essential.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopies, filing cabinets, printers, and scanners.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
