Role and Responsibilities:


We're looking for a reliable and organized Lead Stocker to join our night shift team at the commissary. In this role, you'll oversee the stocking and organization of products overnight, ensuring everything is in its right place and ready for the next day.



  • Work with a team primarily composed of individuals with disabilities.

  • Assist in planning daily work schedules to complete all tasks on time and within budget.

  • Help develop and maintain performance standards to ensure high-quality work.

  • Oversee daily and periodic shelf-stocking tasks, ensuring they meet quality standards.

  • Monitor supply and equipment usage, request additional supplies as needed.

  • Conduct training sessions for staff on proper stocking and safety procedures.

  • Collaborate with commissary personnel to address any challenges that arise.

  • Maintain high service quality and effective communication.

  • Ensure adherence to the "first in, first out" (FIFO) rule for product rotation.

  • Regularly check products for expiration dates and remove expired items promptly.

  • Communicate any equipment issues to store management.

  • Keep track of inventory levels and notify management when stock needs to be reordered.


Requirements:



  • Must have a valid driver's license.

  • Minimum of (1) year proven experience in a grocery store as a stocker or similar role.


Preferred Skills:



  • Minimum of (1) year supervisory experience (Preferred)

  • Attention to detail

  • Time management skills

  • Strong communication skills

  • Strong safety awareness skills.


Physical Demands:



  • Lifting and Carrying: Heavy boxes and crates.

  • Standing and Walking: On feet for extended periods, navigating the store.

  • Bending, Squatting, and Reaching: Frequent movements to stock shelves and organize items.

  • Repetitive Motion: Continuous lifting and arranging products.

  • Physical Stamina: Endurance for long shifts

  • Pushing and Pulling: Moving carts or pallets, often with heavy loads.

  • Reasonable accommodations can be provided.


Environmental Demands:



  • Cool/Cold Environments: Working in refrigerated/frozen sections.

  • Lighting: Bright or dim lighting, depending on the area of the store.

  • Noise: Machinery, forklifts, and store equipment can be loud.

  • Night Shifts: Working late hours, impacting sleep schedules.

  • Hazardous Materials: Exposure to cleaning chemicals, sharp objects, and broken items.

  • Tight Spaces: Cramped stockrooms and narrow aisles to navigate.

  • Temperature Fluctuations: Temperature changes throughout the night.
