DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a County Social Services Aide 1, you will assist and receive training from professional social services personnel in providing services to children, youth, and families. This specialized work involves scheduling, transporting, and escorting clients to various appointments, foster homes, court hearings, and for recreational purposes. You will provide basic information as needed, contact clients who fail to keep appointments, and provide supervision of children during office hours. This professional also assists clients and families with activities of daily living, general home maintenance and care, and distribution and delivery of equipment, clothing, and other belongings to clients. Work also involves the performance of routine clerical duties and maintenance of waiting and visiting rooms. Duties will be performed under the close supervision of a professional supervisor and will be reviewed by observation of performance and evaluation of results. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Graduation from high school; or
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
