Reedsburg Area Medical Center is hiring a full-time Certified Medical Assistant to work in the UW Health Outreach Clinic at RAMC! Are you looking to be apart of a dynamic team that seeks to raise the bar higher? If so, we want you to join us!

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday through Friday

Hours: 8:00 a.m - 5:00 p.m.

Hours per week: 38

Position Summary:

The Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for a variety of patient care, technical, and clerical-related functions in the ambulatory setting. The Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for clinic patient care as directed by the Provider or RN. The Certified Medical Assistant may also be involved in the training and guidance of clinical staff. As a member of the patient care team, the Certified Medical Assistant is also aware of the psychosocial needs of patients and families.


Education and Training Required
:

a-Graduate from an accredited school where diploma in Medical Assistant is granted.

a-CMA certification through AMAA or CCMA.

a-BLS certified.
Experience:

a-Must be able to deal with multiple priorities in a calm way.

a-Required decision making and problem solving skills.


Physical Requirements:

a-Physical Demands:aFrequently sits while performing the tasks of the role (scheduling, developing & reviewing protocols/procedures, job descriptions, etc.)

aOccasionally carry objects weighing less than 10 pounds.

aOccasionally walk and stand.

aOccasionally lift up to 50 pounds while transferring and positioning patients and maneuvering equipment while using gait belts, transfer devices, etc.

aOccasionally bend to the floor, squat, kneel, crouch and reach overhead to assist with patient care or retrieve equipment or supplies.

aOccasionally handle objects, smell, feel, control knobs, switches and levers.

a-Sight:

aOccasionally use sight capacities, including spatial, peripheral, colors & accommodation & depth perception.

aFrequently use near and far vision while reviewing patient records, computer screens, charts, hemoccult results, gauges on patient equipment, monitors, etc.

a-Cognition/Communication:

aFrequently utilizes simple reading skills and normal conversations.

aOccasional exposure to comprehensive speech, both simple and complex writing skills, basic and complex math.

aFrequently is exposed to low volume of speech with patients and telephone conversations with other members of the healthcare team, physicians, and family members.

a-Environmental Conditions:

aContinual exposure to an inside, patient environment with occasional unpleasant odors or noises.

aOccasional exposure to low light or glare conditions.

a-Potential Hazards:

aOccasional exposure to infectious blood/body fluids and diseases requiring infection control practices, red infectious waste.

aOccasional exposure to needles/syringes/sharps during medication administration, assistance with treatments, invasive procedures.

aOccasional exposure to chemical compounds of medications and treatments and cleaning agents such as Cidex.

aMay handle hazardous drugs.

a-Psychological, Situational, Functional Factors:aFrequent problem solving, analyzing, use of judgment and critical thinking in regards to changes of patient condition, environmental factors, flexibility.

aOccasionally be able to rotate shifts, and provide flexibility with work schedule.

aFrequently be able to work independently, take initiative, work closely and motivate others.

aContinuously plan and direct patient care, manage conflict and/or difficult situations.

aOccasionally prioritize work flow while maintaining speed, accuracy and consistency.
