The best candidate will demonstrate excellent critical thinking skills, the ability to think and work independently with little supervision, a self-starting attitude, a team-centric demeanor centered in empathy and collaboration, and highly effective communication skills. The Manager of Ambulatory Care Clinical Pharmacy Services is responsible for the following functions: Clinical Responsibilities:Providers direct patient care activities during service encounters or service delivery.Maintains clinical aptitude to provide care deliverables on a personal and departmental basis.Maintains and provides direction for clinical care and quality metric activities in the ambulatory care setting.Maintains and provides oversite for ambulatory care PGY-2 residency.Finance & Budgeting:Reviews and analyzes departmental financial and volume performance.Performs, consults and presents financial analysis of proposed new programs, purchases and other business-related needs.Analyze historical trends and develops budgets, forecasts, and budget targets based on productivity standards and other measures to ensure that the performance of the business unit is within stated objectives.Assess and produce measurement data and reports needed to accomplish the department objectives of the pharmacy division.Maintains an understanding of the existing financial resources and information within the Organization.Works with the Director of Ambulatory Care Pharmacy to predict and operate in accordance with budget and financial forecasts.Administrative Responsibilities:Collaborates with other departments and health care team members as required.Continually improves safety and experience through ongoing analysis of data and proactive implementation of action plans to improve services.Contributes to the development of policies and procedures, multidisciplinary standards of practice and evidence-based guidelines; collaborates with colleagues from other discipline to seek support for change as related to pharmaceutical practice.Disseminates outcomes of system-wide changes to stakeholders, including impact on business practice outcomes.Evaluates effectiveness of business practices, and organizational policies in meeting and sustaining identified outcomes of ambulatory care, and other relevant pharmaceutical care outcomes.Behavioral Responsibilities:Serves as a role model for professional behavior.Creates a positive work environment by promoting collaboration and teamwork and by involving staff in planning, decision making, and resolution of conflicts.Communicates effectively.Demonstrates effective listening and models open, clear and consistent communication.Demonstrates a personal commitment to performance improvement.Continues own education and continuous learning to strengthen knowledge and meet the current and future needs of the department and health system.Supervises the following roles:Pharmacists, Ambulatory Care Pharmacy.Supervisor, Medication Management Clinic.Total Rewards Offerings:Salem Health's comprehensive benefits package prioritizes your mental and physical health, financial stability, family obligations and professional growth.Relocation assistance available for qualified positionsFull comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plansBasic and voluntary life insuranceShort and long-term disabilityLive Well Wellness ProgramEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)401(K) retirement plan with employer contributions.Generous paid time off (PTO) accrual and holiday payOnsite fitness center with 24/7 badge accessEducation assistance programPublic service loan forgiveness (PSLF) eligible employerhttps://studentaid.gov/Food and drink discounts in the cafeteriaImpressive discounts offered by Nike, Adidas, Carhartt and othersBackground/Expertise:Education: Graduate of ACPE accredited college of pharmacy required (Pharm.D. degree preferred, B.S. degree acceptable with applicable work experience or PGY-1 residency program completion).PGY-2 residency with ambulatory-care-focus preferred.Experience: Two (2) years of experience in a supervisory pharmacy role preferred.Five (5) years previous experience in a Hospital or Ambulatory care setting required.Licenses/Certification/Registration: Current Oregon Pharmacist license or eligibility to apply for Oregon Pharmacist license required. Appropriate Board Certification (BCPS, BCPAP, etc.) is required within two years of accepting position.Registration as active Preceptor per ASHP Residency guidelines required. Credentials: Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.
