Position Summary We are seeking a well-versed Network Administrator to join the IA Team. This role will be part of the OCOS (Office of the Chief of Staff) Security Services Information Assurance (IA) Team, with responsibilities including operating, monitoring, and maintaining accredited networks. Decision Making: Must be able to identify user and network issues and resolve trivial issues independently. Information Security issues and complex operational problems are handled in concert with the other network administrators, ISSO, ISSM and, when appropriate, IT engineering groups. Working Conditions: Required to respond to emergency situations remotely or onsite within a designated timeframe. Required to work normal business hours; evening and weekend work may occasionally be required. Accountability: Ensures network is operating efficiently and resolves issues. Verifies that accredited network components maintain their prescribed configuration and addresses/reports deviations from same immediately. Recommends modifications to enhance network performance and reliability. Regularly communicates with other network administrators, the ISSO and ISSM, as well as IT engineering groups when needed to convey operational status information relevant to the services in scope. Direction: Works under general supervision with input from the ISSO or ISSM. Most work is performed independently, or in concert with other network administrators, the ISSO, ISSM and appropriate IT engineering groups. Network: Knows Cisco IOS, network administration, server and network problem resolution based on examination of events/alerts and system monitors/logs. Physical: Computer hardware installation and configuration required on a regular basis, sometimes involving transport of heavy objects (typically under 100 lbs.) short distances, use of hand tools, etc. Carrying of light objects (< 20 lbs.) for longer distances (intra-campus; 2-3 city blocks) may also be required.
Duties: 1. Team Operations Work with other network administrators Work in a team to evolve the infrastructures and solve problems Assist the team with network issues 3. Maintaining Network Security Maintain STIG compliance 4. Other Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent combination of training and experience. Five plus (5+) years of system and network administration experience using modern network administration tools and operating techniques in a heterogeneous infrastructure. Current Cisco certifications: Cisco entry-level certification (CCENT) or above (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, etc.) Candidate will be subject to a background check and will need to obtain and maintain a T5 collateral clearance with ICD 704 eligibility. You also need to meet and maintain DOD 8140 readiness requirements within nine (9) months of employment at SEI's expense. This position is located in the Pittsburgh, PA office with potential for ~10% travel to the northern Virginia SEI office site.
