Test Engineer

BigBear.ai is looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Senior Software Test Engineer to take ownership of comprehensive manual testing across all facets of our software solutions. In this critical role, you will ensure the highest quality and reliability of our products, playing a key part in delivering exceptional user experiences.

• Lead automation testing efforts for web and mobile applications, ensuring seamless, high-quality user experiences across platforms

• Meticulously document all defects and track them in JIRA, driving transparency and continuous improvement

• Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans, scenarios, scripts, and procedures to guarantee thorough and consistent test coverage

• Perform both manual functional and automated testing, leveraging a deep understanding of requirements and deployment environments to identify issues early

• Conduct thorough regression testing to ensure every release maintains the highest standards of quality and stability

• Deliver detailed functional testing to verify that new features are fully complete and perform as intended

• Provide hands-on support during software installation and configuration, ensuring smooth deployment and adoption

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physical Sciences, or a related field - or equivalent hands-on experience that demonstrates your technical expertise

• 5 to 8 years of solid experience in Automation Testing, bringing proven skills in test strategy and execution

• Must be eligible to pass a DHS background check and hold U.S. citizenship, meeting essential security requirements

• Strong analytical abilities with the capacity to define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

• Expertise in writing clear and comprehensive test plans, test cases, test procedures, and automation scripts, including API endpoint testing

• Meticulous in creating detailed test logs and defect reports during release sprints, using tools like Jira to effectively communicate issues to product teams

• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, enabling you to read and understand backend web code for thorough testing

• Familiarity with the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and experience contributing to phases including analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and support

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, ensuring clear documentation of test plans and effective collaboration with developers and stakeholders

• Experience supporting production incidents in a QA capacity, helping to quickly identify and resolve issues

• Skilled in developing and maintaining smoke and regression test suites to safeguard release quality

• Proficient in designing and executing functional black-box tests to validate software against requirements

• A sharp eye for exceptional attention to detail, ensuring precision and quality in everything you do

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong, positive relationships across teams and stakeholders

• Outstanding oral and written communication skills, enabling clear and effective dialogue at all levels

• Proven track record of reliable follow-up and follow-through, driving timely resolution of issues and maintaining project momentum
