Automotive Materials Weathering Engineer

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is currently looking for an Automotive Materials Weathering Engineer at our Proving Grounds in California City, CA who will:

• Evaluate and Develop the Material Weathering resistance performance of Hyundai and Kia prototype and production vehicles.
• Plan and execute material weathering projects that support the development for polymers, fabrics, and coatings.
• Conduct experimental investigations to understand and improve material weathering processes in support of prototype vehicle development.
• Work with other engineering and technician staff to perform material weathering evaluations.
• Conduct competitor benchmarking in addition to Hyundai and Kia material testing.
• Travel up to 20% domestically/internationally.

Compensation

• $85,000-$110,000

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry, Paint/Coating, Plastic Technology, or Polymer Science; Other degrees may be considered based on relevant experience
• 5 years of materials testing and/or development experience, preferably in automotive
