Job Summary:
The School of Nursing at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is seeking talented, innovative, and productive nurse scientists to join our tenure track faculty. Successful candidates will join a vibrant and collaborative group of scientists and scholars conducting innovative and impactful research aimed at improving health care services and individual and population health across the lifespan. We seek candidates who will develop and maintain robust externally funded research programs. Candidates with research programs that generate new knowledge, in one or more of the following recruitment priority areas are strongly encouraged to apply: * Aging and care of older adults * Children, families, or reproductive health * Health equity/disparities * Health or public health systems and public health * Informatics/data science * Mental health and/or substance use * Symptom science and/or palliative care
Successful candidates for these positions will also teach courses aligned with their expertise in Baccalaureate, Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), and PhD programs, and will mentor undergraduate honors and graduate students in research and scholarship. Service to the school, university, and profession, and meaningful contributions to creating inclusive excellence are expectations of tenure track faculty.
Responsibilities:
* Tenure-track faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Nursing conduct research, teach courses, mentor students, and contribute to school, university, community, and professional activities through academic citizenship, service, and leadership. * Tenure-track faculty members positively contribute to School of Nursing and University of Wisconsin-Madison goals for diversity and inclusive excellence. * Successful candidates will be expected to develop and maintain a collaborative, innovative, robust, and highly visible research programs that entail conceptualizing, designing, and conducting research studies; managing research staff; following all research compliance policies; disseminating research results; and seeking extramural research funding. Research programs may build on one or more of the following research approaches: symptom science, systems science, qualitative methods, health services research, epidemiology, informatics, large data analytics, or mixed methods. Research programs should be consistent with national nursing, public health, behavioral health, aging, family health, mental health, informatics, health care, or health systems priorities for extramural funding. * Successful candidates will be expected to teach courses aligned with their expertise at Baccalaureate and/or graduate levels. Teaching may include co-teaching in active learning environments and interprofessional education with health sciences students and faculty. Teaching may include face-to-face, blended, and online delivery. * Research mentoring of undergraduate honors students, PhD students, and postdoctoral trainees/fellows is expected. * Successful candidates will be expected to actively contribute to school, university, community, and professional committees and other activities through academic service.

Qualifications:
Well-qualified candidates must show evidence of the following: - Research training or experience in conducing health-related research projects - A record of research dissemination through publications and/or presentations - Knowledge and/or emerging skills to teach and mentor at undergraduate or graduate levels in nursing or health-related field - Potential for contribution to the outreach and service missions of the School of Nursing - Ability to work effectively within a diverse community, and commitment to promoting a climate of inclusivity and belonging within our campus and associated communities - Potential for developing an outstanding scholarly research program
Potential for securing extramural grant funding is desirable.
For appointment at the rank of Associate or full Professor, a substantial nationally recognized record of research, publication, teaching, and service meeting the tenure standards of the UW-Madison Divisional Committee and the School of Nursing is required.
