Job Description

SEMCO - Lead, Financial Planning & Analysis

Reporting to the Sr. Director FPA, you will be performing Forecasts, analyzes, and interprets business results for SEI. Regularly interfaces with senior leadership to explain business performance, prepare scenario analyses, and participate in the strategic planning process. Support overall US Utilities entity, including work on WGL.

You will:

  • Manages the work of one Financial Planning & Analysis staff member, training, performance management, coaching, and developing goals and procedures to ensure the achievement of goals
  • Prepares, coordinates and reviews operational and financial data for inclusion in annual and monthly budget and forecasting reports.
  • Develops and maintains 5-year forecasting model and assists with the development and updating of corporate budget data.
  • Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual variance analysis using several bases, including forecast to actual, budget to actual, forecast to previous forecast, forecast to previous actual, etc. Establishes explanations for variances. Presents variances and explanations to various internal parties, provides supporting documentation as required
  • Coordinates with US Utilities FP&A and AltaGas FP&A teams. This includes budgeting, forecasting, and reporting on certain US Utilities groups, as well as providing information to those teams for consolidation and reporting.

You have:

  • Bachelor's Degree accounting, finance, economics or another related quantitative discipline. preferred
  • 7+ Years experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A). required
  • Prior supervisory experience or team/project management preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and interpret complex, detailed financial information and present analytical results in manner appropriate for senior management decision-making (both orally and in writing, in memos or presentation format).
  • Excellent communication skills, including proven ability to effectively articulate complex technical information to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong attention to quality and detail of information and capacity to deliver under time pressures
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize software applications, including Microsoft Office products to access data and generate reports. Must have excellent command of MS Excel to develop and implement complex forecasting models.
  • Knowledge of other financial systems (JD Edwards, Oracle EPM, PeopleSoft, etc) helpful.
  • The position is located at SEI headquarters in Port Huron, MI. Some travel (10%) to the Washington DC area offices required.

Compensation:

We offer a competitive salary range of $112,000 - $142,000 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
