Job DescriptionCoordinates all activities involving Environmental, Health & Safety operations. Assists in the overall management of the department, including budget, contracts, process purchase orders, paying vendors and providing administrative support to the Environmental, Health & Safety Manager. Coordinates and schedules code-required inspections and tests statewide. Manages the activities of the Safety Committee. Coordinates the planning/management of the Annual Safety Fair and a quarterly statewide Safety Newsletter.

The salary range for this position is $49,084 - $53,992 annually.

The final salary offer will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinates the execution and/or renewal of contracts, for inspections and testing, for software licenses, for services, and/or repairs as needed.

  • Processes purchase orders (PO's) ensuring proper approvals and vendor management.

  • Processes vendor invoices for payment in Workday in a timely manner.

  • Coordinates the activities of the Safety Committee and maintains all required documentation (i.e. agendas, minutes, presentations, etc.)

  • Collaborate with other TSTC committees as needed: Conflict of Interest, ADA, Risk Management, etc.

  • Coordinates the planning/management of the Annual Safety Fair.

  • Coordinates the preparation of a quarterly statewide Safety Newsletter.

  • Coordinates inspections by external agencies (i.e. SORM, SFMO, STARR, etc.) at TSTC campuses. Coordinates the receipt, response and tracks the status of corrective actions associated with their recommendations.

  • Provide administrative support to EHS staff, including assisting with scheduling, travel arrangements, expense reports, timesheets, and communication.

  • Coordinate meetings, trainings, and conferences for the statewide Environmental Health & Safety team, providing logistical and administrative support as needed.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for administrative inquiries related to Environmental, Health & Safety operations.

  • Assist in compiling data for preparing reports and presentations to leadership.

  • Assists the EHS Manager with the implementations statewide Environmental, Health & Safety program and other EHS-related policies.

  • Coordinates the organization and maintenance of EHS shared Drives.

  • Coordinates the organization and maintenance of EHS google site and TSTC portal webpage.

  • Assisting with EHS initiatives and projects in general as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate's degree with 2-3 years experience required. Bachelor's degree with 1-2 years experience.

  • Experience must be in administrative, accounts payable, finance, legal, or business administration environments, preferably in higher education.

  • Very strong computer skills (i.e. word, excel, powerpoint, Acrobat, etc.)

  • Experience with budgets, contracts, purchase orders, and paying invoices.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and ability to maintain a strict code of confidentiality.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to collaborate with EHS staff, campus leaders, vendors, and staff.
