Position Highlights |
The 4-H Extension Assistant I is responsible for assisting with the coordinating and managing of the comprehensive 4-H youth development program in an Extension unit. This position is supervised by the Program Coordinator and/or the 4-H Youth Development Extension Agent. Some evening and weekend work will be required. The position will assist in the development and presentation of teaching programs and the recruitment of volunteers and youth. Duties & Responsibilities |
- Certify and manage all 4-H Leaders within Pinal County. They will conduct interviews, reference checks, and keep files updated.
- Comply with DCC process and manage volunteer communication with leaders. Complete forms and maintain volunteer contact.
- Provide leadership, direction and guidance to 4-H clubs. Attend meetings and provide current communication.
- Assist with fair preparation and implementation as well as ongoing events.
- Promote and manage social media outlets to keep current with events and respond accordingly.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong computer and social media skills. Facility with word processing, spreadsheets, and PowerPoint. Comfortable with public speaking.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information

Minimum Qualifications |
- High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience may be required.
- Prior work experience not required.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Experience working while demonstrating ability to lift 30 lbs
- 4-H experience preferred
- Bilingual preferred
