Position Summary The Director of Federal Affairs will act as a key liaison to the federal government, federal agencies and the DC-based higher education community, and other policy related entities. The position will be located at NYU's Washington, D.C. campus, with some travel to New York City. Primary responsibilities are to advocate on behalf of the University's core policy agenda; monitor and create funding, legislative, and outreach opportunities for the University; oversee the crafting of legislative and advocacy responses to such opportunities; facilitate University interaction with government officials and provide policy analysis for key University administrators. Work closely with the senior Government Affairs and Public Affairs Team, the deans and university leadership in understanding and shaping priorities, managing strategic outreach, and carrying out implementation of Presidential/Provost approved government and research priorities. Responsible for developing positive relationships with federal officials, responding to inquiries and ensuring effective responses from the institutions to various levels of government. This position is based in DC. Qualifications Required Education: Additional Information In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $155,000.00 to USD $195,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
