JRAD is seeking candidates for a Senior Systems Engineer position supporting the Joint Project Manager for CBRN Sensors (JPM CBRN S). This is a part time (.25 FTE) position with the Robotics and Platform Integration (RPI) Team in support of the NBCRV SSU program.

Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Provide systems engineering analysis and technical expertise to the Product Manager for the Nuclear, Biological, Chemical Reconnaissance Vehicle Sensor Suite Upgrade (NBCRV SSU) program, the functional support staff, and integrated product teams (IPTs).
  • Facilitate the conduct of systems engineering technical processes, per the Defense Acquisition Guidebook (DAG), including requirements analysis and flow down, associated development of and updates to Performance Specifications (PSpecs) and architectures, assessment of vendor allocated baselines, conducting systems engineering trade studies, maintaining traceability of requirements using Requirements Traceability & Verification Matrices, providing value-added recommendations for the program technical strategy and incorporating them into the System Engineering Plan (SEP).
  • Provide input to leadership (i.e., PM and lead test engineer) and prepare command-level briefings that include:
    • Identifying and defining required tests
    • Monitoring test coverage
    • Evaluating overall quality experienced
    • Specifying the required test data
    • Evaluating the outcome of the testing conducted in each test cycle and include in requirements traceability matrix
  • Support the NBCRV SSU and SUAS integration test plan development and execution.
  • Provide processing and analysis of LIDAR technologies to extract meaningful information, such as object detection, distance measurement, and terrain mapping.
  • Conduct tests to assess the accuracy and precision of LIDAR measurements in different scenarios and compare data with referee systems to validate sensor performance.
  • Lead all test, design and engineering efforts related to Compact Standoff Detection System (cSDS).
  • Attend (virtually or in-person) team meetings related to testing, design, and sensor integration.

Required Skills and Education:

  • Standard Requirement: MS in Engineering with twenty (20) years of general experience and six (6) years of specific experience in reconnaissance platforms, chemical or biological sensing technologies, and/or unmanned aerial systems.
  • Experience in chemical, biological radiological, and nuclear defense (CBRND).
  • Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) experience.

Security Clearance:

  • Active Secret clearance required
