Position Highlights The University of Arizona's College of Fine Arts is seeking a dynamic candidate to fulfill the position of Student Success Coordinator (Student Activities & Services Professional II). The successful incumbent will collaborate with College of Fine Arts Student Services (Student Success and Advising teams) to create and implement student engagement activities and events to foster, promote and celebrate student success and community connection. The Coordinator will develop and implement strategies, processes, learning experiences, and networks that support the achievement of desired academic and career outcomes including the overall student experience as envisioned by the Associate Director of Student Success.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the CFA Student Success and Advising teams to create and implement student engagement activities and strategies to foster, promote and celebrate student success and community connection.
  • Act as point of contact for student, parent, staff, and faculty communication for student events.
  • Plan and Execute Annual & Bi-Annual Events:
  • Next Stop CFA + Destination Arizona
  • College of Fine Arts Fall Graduation Convocation
  • College of Fine Arts Spring Graduation Convocation
  • Achievement Awards Convocation and/or Family Weekend event
  • Co-train and mobilize student ambassadors in student engagement and retention outreach.
  • Assist with Preceptor course under the supervision of the CFA Assoc Dean for Academic & Student Affairs; coordinate paperwork, track compliance and work with students to achieve agreed on learning outcomes.
  • Represent College of Fine Arts at recruiting events as needed.
  • Work with Student Services team to vet CFA Student award nominations for Outstanding Senior, Outstanding Graduate and Creative Achievement awards.
  • Assist School directors and staff with the creation of school-led persistence initiatives, including peer-to-peer mentoring programs.
  • Collaborate with the CFA Student Services team to promote student success and retention initiatives (phone campaigns, trainings, etc.)
  • Coordinate TAD (The Arts District) activities and support TAD housing placements.

  • Knowledge in providing administrative and programmatic support.
  • Skills in event planning, coordinating and administering programs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with different groups/individuals.
  • Ability to foster a welcoming, inclusive environment.
  • Ability and skills in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and web-based applications.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude while working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate creativity, flexibility and initiative.
  • Ability to work successfully as part of a team.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with university recruitment, retention and/or mentoring.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations.
  • 4+ years working in higher education.
  • Degree in the Arts.
