Job Overview:

The Welder/Fitter/Fabricator will work under limited supervision and will perform a variety of welding duties efficiently with high quality results.

Responsibilities:

* Perform Specialized Welding: Weld nickel 55/45 wire to cast iron for filler applications, rebuilding or filling in part erosion or cavitation, following technical specifications.
* Fabricate and Weld Various Materials: Perform welding on stainless steel (316L/304), mild steel, and stainless plate to cast iron using MIG, TIG, and Stick welding methods.
* Operate Welding and Cutting Equipment: Effectively use welding machines (MIG, Stick, TIG), plasma cutters, and air arch gougers to meet fabrication requirements.
* Plate Rolling and CNC Plasma Table Operation: Utilize plate rollers to shape metal and operate CNC plasma tables for precise cutting tasks.
* Blueprint Interpretation and Layout: Read blueprints to accurately lay out bolt circles, radii, angles, and other precise measurements using tape measures and other tools.
* Material Handling and Equipment Operation: Safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts to move and position materials for fabrication.
* Ensure Quality and Certification Compliance: Pass weld certification/plate tests and adhere to industry standards for high-quality welds and materials.
* Collaboration and Safety: Maintain a clean and safe work environment, work well with team members, and cross-train to assist and help others in the shop.

Requirements:

* Welding Experience and Skills: 2+ (or more) years of experience in welding, with the ability to weld stainless steel (316L/304), mild steel, and stainless plate to cast iron using MIG, TIG, and Stick welding techniques.
* Welding Equipment Proficiency: 2+ (or more) years of experience to operating and maintaining various welding and cutting equipment, including MIG and Stick welders, TIG welder, plasma cutter, air arch gouger, plate roller, and CNC plasma table.
* Blueprint Interpretation and Layout Skills: 2+ (or more) years of experience reading/interpreting blueprints and accurately laying out bolt circles, radii, degrees, and angles, as well as read a tape measure for precise measurements.
* At least 1 year (or more) of experience operating a forklift.
* At least 1 year (or more) of experience operating an overhead crane.

Core Competencies:

* Ability to use standard problem-solving methods (ie. 5 Whys) as trained
* Ability to effectively share information about job duties in one-on-one and small group situations to supervisor, customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
* Certification and Safety: Ability to pass a weld certification/plate test, demonstrate safe operation of overhead cranes and forklifts, and maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Preferences:

* Team Collaboration and Communication: Strong ability to work well with others in a team-oriented environment and communicate effectively to complete projects efficiently.
* High school diploma, GED, or completion of trade school preferred.

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements:

* This position will be based 100% onsite at our Moody, AL facility
