Job Description Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? Terracon is growing and seeks a Petrographer at varying levels of experience to join our ever-growing Petrography team. The successful candidate will be working with various teams of experts across Terracon's extensive network across the country. Candidates will have the option of working in our Cincinnati, Ohio, or Minnesota offices. A remote or hybrid option will be considered for experienced petrographers (> 7 years). The successful candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of the microstructural characteristics, analytical tools and consensus standards used to evaluate concrete, concrete aggregate, and cementitious materials. They will be required to understand and have the ability to identify the common deterioration mechanisms of cementitious material composites in a variety of environmental exposure conditions. It is imperative that candidates have experience using a stereo-optical microscope and polarized light microscope. Experience with scanning electron microscopy (SEM) with energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) is a plus. Good communication skills, intellectual curiosity, problem-solving abilities, and a strong motivation to learn, grow, and teach are essential for this position.
