Overview

The SBA Portfolio Manager effectively manages a loan portfolio and engages with internal business partners to identify, solicit and close cross-selling opportunities. Develops and maintains long term business relationships with clients.


Responsibilities

  • Manage exceptions to include tax returns, financial statements, and insurance.
  • Manage past due payments while identifying and escalating loans showing signs of trouble.
  • Maintain and update SBA eligibility maintenance and compliance: including watching for changes in the business or project that impact eligibility, performing prudent research, and maintaining secondary market compliance.
  • Monitor loans identified as high risk in the SBA Parris report.
  • Build relationships with clients to be their trusted advisor; establish clients as referral resources by providing extraordinary service.
  • Analyze clients' needs; assess the client's financial position and credit worthiness to ensure loans meet credit and financial requirements for lending quality and compliance as determined by the Bank.
  • Make critical decisions regarding credit risk supported by substantial analysis and critical data-based decision making.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of all bank products.
  • Analyze, synthesize and communicate complex financial and industry data in an accurate, objective and straightforward manner.
  • Participate in business and community organizations and regularly attend networking events.
  • Use and understand technology necessary to collect, retain, analyze and report critical, requisite information.
  • Interact with internal and external clients while providing extraordinary service.
  • Develop and maintain trusted, positive relationships with employees, clients and vendors.
  • Represent the Bank and SBA team in a highly professional manner.
  • Complete job assignments in a professional, timely and efficient manner; organize and prioritize work.
  • Maintain confidentiality; adhere to CrossFirst Bank policies and procedures; comply with laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Reliable and predictable onsite

Qualifications

  • At least two years of SBA lending or portfolio management.
  • Formal credit training.
  • Knowledge of SBA lending, banking products and services: including credit analysis, underwriting, and treasury management products and services.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen and high level of problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communicator, results-oriented, demonstrates the ability to excel in high-pressure situations.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills with the ability to cultivate long term relationships and influence others internally and externally.
  • Bachelor's degree with exposure to Finance, Business or Economics courses is preferred or equivalent work experience.
