Role Description

Form Energy is seeking an Engineering Technician to support critical lab activities that enhance the robustness and reliability of our iron-air battery products. As part of the Reliability Engineering Team, you will contribute to failure analysis efforts through battery cell teardowns, failure data collection, and post-teardown sample preparation and processing. This role requires hands-on work in the lab and close collaboration with a cross-functional team to ensure high-quality failure data documentation. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and be part of the growth of a fast-moving company with breakthrough technology and an incredible mission!

What you'll do:
  • Conduct hands-on lab work, utilizing a variety of tools to support battery cell teardowns and failure analysis.

  • Collaborate closely with Engineering teams to inspect electrode components during teardowns and document failure observations for battery product design and build improvements.

  • Perform post-teardown sample preparation and processing for material characterization essential to failure analysis.

  • Maintain an organized and efficient lab space, and be a champion for safety in the lab.

What you'll bring:
  • 4+ years experience as an engineering technician or an associated degree in an engineering field.

  • Strong teamwork skills and collaborative mindset.

  • Experience in using and maintaining handheld power tools and lab instruments.

  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

  • Comfortable working with chemicals and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • A positive, solution-oriented mindset with a drive to get things done!
