Inside Upholsterer Opportunity with Bernhardt Furniture:

As an Inside Upholsterer for Bernhard, you will be at the heart of our operations, responsible for:

  • Upholstering the interior sections of chairs and sofas
  • Ensuring the highest quality and adherence to design specifications.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply poly parts and cotton/dacryon to the frame, shaping the inside arms, inside back, and seat as required.
  • Secure the fabric to one of the inside components using tacks, ensuring proper alignment.
  • Stretch and shape the fabric over the component, adjusting tautness to achieve the desired feel, appearance, and pattern alignment.
  • Permanently affix the fabric with staples, ensuring a tight and secure fit.
  • Repeat the process for each component until the entire piece is upholstered.
  • Set the finished unit aside for the cell assembler to move to the next stage.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to prevent injuries and ensure a safe working environment.


Requirements:

  • Experience: At least three years of experience in upholstery is preferred.
  • Attention to Detail: Must be detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality.
  • Skills:

    • Proficiency in using hand tools
    • Knowledge of manufacturing processes related to furniture production.
    • Ability to work with power tools for assembly.


  • Education: A certification in upholstery or a related field is preferred but not required.
