A well-established company in the insurance sector is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to join its team in Charlotte, NC, Hartford, CT, or Branchville, NJ. This role follows a hybrid work model in one of these above locations. The company is looking for a leader to oversee an application development team with both on-shore and off-shore teams. This position is not hands-on coding but will focus on leadership and team management.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead a high-performing development team to deliver key business initiatives.
  • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality software solutions.
  • Address technical challenges and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Collaborate with Product, Business, and IT stakeholders to align technology with business goals.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and software quality.
  • Help prioritize new development projects, system enhancements, and maintenance requests.
  • Contribute to project planning and estimation efforts.
  • Oversee design, code, and test plan reviews to ensure best practices.
  • Report on KPIs and program progress to leadership.
  • Focus on team leadership, performance management, and coaching, with no hands-on coding.
Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience in leading software development teams or hands-on development.
  • Strong background in full-stack development using .NET, C#, Angular, APIs, and SQL.
  • Knowledge of modern Agile methodologies like Scrum, Kanban, DevOps, test-driven development, and test automation.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience in coaching and managing teams.
  • Track record of successfully delivering complex projects while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;
