Overview

The Clinical Assessment Specialist's primary duty is to provide initial screening assessments. The Clinical Assessment Specialist is a behavioral health professional responsible for facilitating admissions, clinical intake assessments, and prior authorization process to assure continuity for the most appropriate level of care for clients. Performs assessments, screens for clinical and medical appropriateness, and determines the appropriate level of care. Works closely with business office, nursing, and clinical staff as well as external parties to ensure the timely admission of clients. Therapeutic services include but are not limited to, assessment, treatment planning, direct service provision, person centered services, and management of client risk and safety.

Role Requirements

  • Master's Degree in psychology, social work, counseling, rehabilitation, or a related human services field (a related human services field is one in which major course work includes the study of human behavior and development).
  • At least two (2) years' experience working with children over 5, adolescents and/or adults who have mental health, substance abuse and/or co-occurring disorders or developmental disabilities.
  • Must be able to provide individualized, integrated mental health, substance abuse, and co-occurring services to meet the needs of individuals served and their families.
  • Must be able to travel locally to training locations and other locations as necessary.
  • Must be able to pass organization-screening requirements, including state or federal background screenings as appropriate.

Compensation

The salary ranges from $49,056 - $52,890 per year based on experience.
