Position Overview
Primary Purpose of Position |
This position is responsible for being the first point-of-contact for Facilities visitors. As the Front Desk Receptionist, this person will be expected to answer and direct phone calls, greeting/referring/assisting visitors/students/faculty and staff/others, mail distribution, maintaining conference room schedules, project meeting scheduling, and conduct other administrative support as needed. |
Primary Function of Organizational Unit |
The Physical Plant is responsible for providing services relative to buildings and grounds maintenance, utilities, transportation, trash removal, central receiving, recycling, disposition of surplus property and moving and hauling. In addition, the Physical Plant's expanding responsibilities include providing support services for the instruction and research programs to achieve the University's mission, goals and objectives. Maintain, improve and expand all campus buildings, campus image and educational opportunities for all people. More specifically, the functions involve energy conservation, building renovation/repair, occupational safety and health, landscape design, event planning, vehicle and equipment maintenance/repair, motor pool and housekeeping services to 44 academic buildings, 14 residence halls and seven farm buildings. Moreover, the Housekeeping Department provides housekeeping and custodial services to 44 academic buildings, and supervises housekeeping contractor for 14 residence halls. |
