The Distribution Manager plays a vital role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our pharmaceutical distribution center. They are responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of products through our facility, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and optimizing processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Job duties:



  • Operations Oversight: Supervise all aspects of the distribution center's operations, including receiving, storage, order fulfillment, and shipping.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines, including FDA requirements, Good Distribution Practices (GDP), and company policies.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory control processes, including cycle counting, replenishment, and stock rotation, to maintain accurate inventory levels and minimize discrepancies.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains, and lead initiatives to implement improvements while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
  • Team Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to a diverse team of warehouse associates, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish KPIs and performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of operations, and regularly monitor performance against targets, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Health and Safety: Promote a safe working environment by enforcing safety policies and procedures, conducting regular safety audits, and ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance measures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of product handling and shipping processes, conducting regular audits and inspections.
  • Vendor Management: Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of products and resolve any issues or discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Communication: Maintain open and effective communication channels with cross-functional teams, including logistics, procurement, customer service, and quality assurance, to facilitate smooth operations and address any issues or concerns.


Required qualifications:



  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management, preferably in a pharmaceutical distribution or healthcare logistics environment.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and quality standards applicable to pharmaceutical distribution (e.g., FDA, GDP).
  • Proven leadership abilities, with experience managing and developing a team of warehouse associates.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, implement solutions, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite. SAP and TraceLink experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining a focus on quality and compliance.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in:

    • Regulatory Compliance: In-depth knowledge of FDA regulations, Good Distribution Practices (GDP), and other relevant regulatory requirements governing pharmaceutical distribution.
    • Supply Chain Management: Understanding of supply chain principles, including inventory management, logistics, and procurement, with the ability to optimize processes and ensure timely delivery of products.
    • Operations Management: Proven experience in overseeing warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, order fulfillment, and shipping, with a focus on efficiency, accuracy, and quality.
    • Leadership and Team Management: Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop a diverse team of warehouse associates, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
    • Process Improvement: Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for process optimization and implement improvements, leveraging tools and methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma.
    • Quality Assurance: Experience implementing quality assurance measures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of product handling and shipping processes, including conducting audits and inspections.
    • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders, including cross-functional teams, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
    • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to analyze data, identify issues, and develop and implement solutions to drive continuous improvement.
    • Technology Proficiency: Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to leverage technology to streamline operations and enhance productivity.
    • Adaptability and Resilience: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, adapting to changing priorities and requirements while maintaining a focus on quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
    • Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and precision in all aspects of operations management.
    • Customer Focus: Dedication to meeting the needs of internal and external customers, with a focus on delivering high-quality products and services in a timely and efficient manner.
    • Ethical Conduct: Commitment to ethical conduct and integrity in all interactions, adhering to company policies and regulatory requirements to ensure the highest standards of compliance and professionalism.




Preferred qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field.
