This position is responsible for supporting the procurement of items and materials required to support production, maintenance and supplier development.
What you'll be doing:
The safety and health of employees take precedence over all duties of this job. Assist in identifying and developing qualified suppliers that can ensure exceptional quality, delivery and cost reductions Source and procure products and services Coordinate production and delivery requirements to meet operating needs Assist with negotiations with suppliers and work with manager to make final procurement decision. Professionally resolves procurement issues in a fair and ethical manner Work with accounting and supplier to resolve invoicing issues Maintain and update data base on all suppliers and items used in one or more operations Communicate with internal customers to understand their requirements Manage expediting activities through supplier contacts, and track material receipts Process returns material transactions and work with suppliers to get errors corrected May take physical inventory of all inventoried items on a monthly basis and cost the inventory. May monitor inventory at multiple locations. May participate in inventory accuracy programs i.e. cycle counts. Work with plants to keep their inventory levels at a minimum Provide updated material prices to the appropriate department to be used in quotations. Review quotes and analysis for new and existing items Provide trend analysis in pricing or availability of assigned materials to Manager Keep management informed on new products and provide industry knowledge in the assigned commodity groupings May coordinate the purchases for multi plant operations including follow up on the delivery schedule Maintain and update procurement policies and operating instructions Secure MSDS from suppliers as needed Solicits and analyzes requests for quotations for assigned items from suppliers or potential suppliers. Works with Production planning to ensure scheduled orders are completed on schedule. Data entry, inventory reconciliation, and reviews of variances in Oracle. Developing stocking levels for critical inventory items. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Problem Solving - Uses rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions; probes all fruitful sources for answers and can see hidden problems Process Management - Effective at figuring out the process necessary to get things done; knows how to separate and combine tasks into efficient work flows. Composure - Is cool under pressure; doesn't become defensive or irritated when times are touch; can handle stress and holds things together when times are tough. Language Ability: Excellent communication skills, both verbal & written. Math Ability: Basic mathematical skills; Ability to understand and comprehend technical data; Ability to analyze MRP reporting Reasoning Ability: Effective problems solving skills; Prioritize own workload Computer Skills: Proficient in the use of computers, spreadsheets, data base programs and ERP systems; Knowledgeable/experience using purchasing and retail information systems, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Other: APICS participation preferred; Some negotiation and organizational skills and ability to interact with all levels of management; Strong communication skills both oral and written; Must be familiar with ISO requirements; Perform cost reduction analysis

Compensation:
The annual base salary range for this role is from 80,320 to 90,360.
