Chemical Laboratory Technician

Job Purpose

Assist staff chemist with laboratory chemical and physical tests and methodologies required for monitoring the quality of manufacturing processes and products. Also to maintain, enter, record, and file data generated by laboratory activities and analytical work. The standard hours for this position are 10 am to 6 pm Monday through Friday. The schedule is to variations and mandatory overtime without notice.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conducts chemical and physical laboratory tests of solids and liquids and analyzes test data to ensure the quality ofprocesses and products.
  • Recommends changes in laboratory procedures and equipment to increase the efficiency of the laboratory.
  • Prepare reports of analytical work.
  • Participate in problem-solving activities to determine root causes of quality non-conformances.
  • Operate the ICP-OES, TriStar, SediGraph and other laboratory equipment.
  • Analyze batches of wastewater to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Basic chemistry knowledge.
1 year of appropriately related experience in the industry.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree, with 1 to 2 years in appropriately related experience in the industry.
