The Category Manager will manage the sourcing and purchasing of indirect products and/or services offering the best total cost of ownership for the company. Mainly, the focus will be on guaranteeing The Oncology Network (The Network) has the highest quality products and/or services at the most cost-effective price. This is an individual contributor role.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Indirect Product/Service Management (50%)

  • Sources indirect products and/or services includingRadiation & Imaging Equipment and Marketing Services
  • Consults and works with other functional areas within the Company as required
  • Manages supplier relationships
  • Manages indirect product and/or service specifications, supplier evaluations, and competitive bids
  • Negotiates contract terms and conditions as well as renewals
  • Communicates value of the overall program to end users
  • Participates in the development and implementation of indirect products and/or services programs that strategically support the company and the Procurement Department

Indirect Product/Service Analysis (50%)

  • Participates in the evaluation of new indirect products and/or services
  • Communicates regularly with operating Management to determine needs and assesses effectiveness of national purchasing programs
  • Oversees resolution of on-going operational issues
  • Works continuously to optimize the order to delivery systems between preferred suppliers and The Network
  • Determines the cost/benefit of centralized compared to decentralized ordering
  • Coordinates review of invoices for indirect product/service and confirms accuracy
  • Monitors on-time payments and rebate allocations
  • Validates strategic supplier costs
  • Develops reporting standards and requirements
  • Coordinates & manages internal and external supplier reporting of key activities
  • Reviews reports for accuracy and trends
  • Provides Director with the information necessary to make key decisions and/or approvals in a timely manner

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
  • 7 - 10 Years' experience in Procurement or related field
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office programs

Salary: 94,700.00 - 126,200.00 - 157,800.00 USD Annual (Target, 127K with 15% MIP)

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
