As a Sovereign Research Analyst specializing in Emerging Markets, you will conduct in-depth research and analysis on sovereign bonds, monitor macroeconomic data and political developments, and develop financial models to assess credit risk. In this role, you will prepare detailed reports, collaborate with portfolio managers, stay updated on global trends, and participate in meetings with experts to support investment strategies and decisions. Your coverage will include sovereigns in LATAM, Europe and Africa.

What you will do

  • Conduct comprehensive research and analysis on emerging market sovereign bonds.
  • Provide a macro view for assigned sector strategies and investment views for hard currency and local currency sovereign strategies
  • Monitor and interpret macroeconomic data, political developments, and financial market trends in emerging markets.
  • Prepare detailed research reports, investment recommendations, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with portfolio managers to provide insights and support investment decisions.
  • Stay updated on global economic trends, geopolitical events, and their potential impact on emerging markets.
  • Participate in meetings and conference calls with government officials, economists, and industry experts.
  • Contribute to the development of investment strategies and portfolio construction.

What you bring

  • Strong analytical skills, financial modeling, quantitative analysis, and knowledge of macroeconomic indicators, political risk, and financial markets.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in fixed income research on emerging markets sovereign debt.
  • Depth of knowledge in conducting research and making investment recommendations across the sovereign credit rating spectrum.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to present complex information clearly, and proficiency in Bloomberg, Reuters, and other financial data platforms.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team, with strong attention to detail and multitasking skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or related field; Master's or CFA preferred.

Expected base salary for the role will generally be between $165,000 - $200,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include other forms of compensation such as, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
