What you will accomplish as an IOT Engineer III TAPCO: In this exciting multifaceted role, you will lead the design and development of cutting-edge embedded systems, leveraging IoT and RF communication protocols to create innovative, high-performance solutions. As a project manager, you will also oversee project timelines, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure successful delivery of embedded systems from concept through to production. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Embedded Hardware Design: Design and develop embedded hardware solutions, focusing on microcontrollers, RF components, and sensors, with a particular emphasis on IoT applications.
- RF Engineering: Develop and optimize RF circuits, including transmitters, receivers, and antenna systems, to ensure reliable wireless communication (e.g., Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, LoRa, etc.) within embedded systems.
- Embedded Firmware Development: Write and optimize firmware for embedded systems, ensuring seamless integration with hardware, efficient use of resources, and real-time processing capabilities.
- IoT Systems Design: Architect and integrate IoT solutions, enabling communication between embedded devices, gateways, and cloud platforms. Work with sensors, actuators, and wireless communication technologies to create reliable IoT ecosystems.
- Project Management: Lead end-to-end project management activities, including defining project scopes, timelines, resource allocation, and risk mitigation. Ensure all technical milestones are met on time and within budget.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, hardware engineers, and product managers, to define system requirements, design specifications, and test plans.
- Optimization and Troubleshooting: Continuously optimize the performance of embedded systems, RF components, and IoT communication. Troubleshoot complex issues, including RF interference, signal integrity, and software/hardware integration problems.
- Regulatory Compliance and Standards: Ensure that all designs and products comply with relevant regulatory standards (e.g., FCC, CE) for wireless communication and embedded systems.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain thorough documentation for hardware, firmware, and project management processes, and provide regular project updates to stakeholders.
- Mentorship: Provide leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering innovation and knowledge sharing within the team.
Required Experience and Knowledge/Skill/Ability
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in embedded systems design, IoT technologies, RF engineering, and embedded firmware development.
- Proficiency in designing and debugging embedded hardware, including microcontrollers, sensors, and RF communication systems.
- Expertise in RF engineering, with knowledge of wireless communication protocols (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, LoRa, etc.) and RF circuit design.
- Strong experience in embedded firmware development (e.g., C, C++, RTOS) for real-time applications.
- Experience in designing and implementing IoT systems, integrating sensors and communication technologies for large-scale IoT networks.
- Proven track record in project management, including defining project requirements, managing timelines, coordinating teams, and ensuring successful delivery.
- Experience with embedded Linux or RTOS (Real-Time Operating Systems) for complex embedded systems.
- Familiarity with IoT cloud platforms (AWS IoT, Azure IoT, Google Cloud IoT) and related services.
- Experience with RF test equipment (e.g., spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes) and performance optimization.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills, both technical and managerial.
