Location: remote. The position requires travel of at least 50%, with occasional weekend work and travel

We are seeking an accomplished veterinarian for Veterinary Medical Lead, U.S. Petcare Strategic Growth Accounts and Member Groups. This individual will be part of the U.S. Petcare Corporate and Independent Veterinary Professional Services Team.

As a member of the Zoetis Petcare Professional Services Team, you will lead the vision of widespread adoption of higher standards of care, compassion, and health within the veterinary profession.

A key objective of the position is to grow and strengthen the Zoetis relationship with medical leadership in assigned accounts, lead the development of medical education plans and marshal Zoetis Petcare resources to effectively execute on the medical component of Zoetis strategic plans. This position will partner with the National Key Account lead and Customer Marking Manager, Member Groups and SGA on account planning and developing/executing medical education plans and opportunities for portfolio growth.

Primary Responsibilities

i) Medical Relationships and Education

  • Build relations and be the primary medical contact for the medical leadership of aligned account customers (i.e., Chief Medical Officers, Regional Medical Directors, Medical Directors etc.)
  • Communicate timely medical updates to the medical leadership of assigned accounts (i.e. new products, label updates, published studies, new medical information)
  • Partner with the Independent National Key Account Lead and Customer Marketing Manager, Member Groups and SGA. to align on business and medical plans to support the accounts.
  • Drive the creation and execution of medical education plans for assigned customers, ensuring they are knowledgeable about key therapeutic and disease areas to support sales growth and help Zoetis meet its financial goals
  • Oversee the execution of medical education plans:
    • Member group/SGA events that involve speakers, the medical lead is a consultant to the Zoetis commercial lead in recommending speakers (internal or external). Works with the Director of Veterinary Specialists on internal Zoetis Specialist availability
    • Collaborates with the Zoetis commercial lead and Marketing Manager, Member Groups and SGA on execution of strategic plans, including medical, for each aligned accountPartner with National Key Account Lead and Customer Marketing Manager, Member Groups and SGA to analyze qualitative and quantitative information about the needs and educational gaps (medical and management) within assigned customers.
  • Attend and contribute to select strategic account, member group and professional organization meetings.

ii) Internal Planning / Alignment / Execution

  • Collaborate with National Key Account Lead and Customer Marketing Manager, Member Groups and SGA to identify and develop core medical education plans, priorities, and strategic imperatives in each assigned account.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of brand strategies for each therapeutic category and ensure Zoetis products are thoroughly, and appropriately, positioned within each assigned account.
  • Create strong, collaborative relationships across all other Zoetis commercial teams (e.g., Regulatory Affairs, Outcomes Research, VMIPS, Academic Affairs and GCD).
  • Collaborate with VMIPS team to ensure customers are aware of and leveraging VMIPS resources appropriately.
  • Collaborate with U.S. Petcare VPS, VMIPS and VMRD leadership to review Zoetis product performance and pharmacovigilance reporting.
  • Demonstrate an exceptional level of communication and collaboration across all functions of the U.S. Petcare Team to include Independent PSV's and field specialists

iii) Financial Performance

  • Meet or exceed emphasis & total product quotas for designated accounts.
  • Grow emphasis products and total business at a greater rate than U.S. Petcare business (net sales).
  • Effectively manage resources to maximize growth opportunities and drive profitability within the U.S. Petcare business.
  • Attend customer quarterly business review meetings as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent.
  • 5 years post-doctoral experience in clinical practice, academia, research or industry.
  • Board certification or additional advanced degrees (i.e. MS, MBA) preferred.
  • 7+ years of animal health industry experience including veterinary professional services, research, sales/account management, large account management and/or marketing.

Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of tools including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word applications.

Base Pay Range: $145,000-$190,000

The following base pay range reflects the anticipated base pay for this position if a selected candidate were to be located in (Colorado). Base pay may vary based on location and other factors. Base Pay Range: $150,000-$190,000

The following base pay range reflects the anticipated base pay for this position if a selected candidate were to be located in (California), (NJ Remote), (NY Remote), or (Washington). Base pay may vary based on location and
other factors. Base Pay Range: $150,000-$195,000
