Senior Consultant- Program Manager

About the Role:

As a program manager in the Technology Procurement and Implementation Services (TPIS) practice, you will work closely with the client leadership team to adopt a holistic and systemic approach to ensure the alignment of technical and business decisions across the projects in scope for a program.

In this role, you will work with the client leadership team to understand and advise on overall program direction, project implementation and new project efforts. You will provide leadership and guidance to resources assigned to projects within the program and facilitate communication and collaboration among resources and stakeholders across projects. You will collaborate with team members, clients, vendors, and third parties to plan and oversee technology projects, ensuring that they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget. Much of the work in this role entails working directly with executives and external partners; thus, this role needs someone with excellent relationship management skills and business acumen.


Key Responsibilities

  • Understand the program, policies, and strategic goals of our client.
  • Develop and maintain project work plans and drive activities to meet project milestones and deliverables.
  • Coordinate and identify synergies among the program's multiple deliverables.
  • Identify and communicate risks and mitigation strategies to project sponsors.
  • Organize and maintain the stakeholder communication process.
  • Report to client executives on progress, milestones, and statuses.
  • Perform quality control of functional deliverables to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist the project team with estimating the necessary resources to reach objectives and, where appropriate, manage resources to effectively deliver value to the client and/or project team.
  • Continue to build and expand our executive client relationships.


About You:
Required Qualifications

  • Excellent business acumen.
  • Experience with executive relationship management.
  • Experience leading complex initiatives.
  • Experience with New York State technical projects.
  • Ability to solve problems creatively.
  • Ability to work both independently and with a team to develop solutions to complex problems.
  • Skilled in performing tasks in a timely manner and on schedule to meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional writing, documentation, and communication to meet program goals.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to manage and develop key relationships with colleagues and clients through collaborative thinking and a strong customer focus.
  • Ability to be proactive when providing updates to clients. Ability to think from the client's perspective, to anticipate their questions and needs.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products.


Preferred/Desired Qualifications

  • Project management professional (PMP) or related certification.
  • Excellent analytical and facilitation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project.
  • Experience working on information technology projects.
  • Ability to lead waterfall and agile projects.


Education/Certifications

  • A bachelors' degree and four years of related program/project management experience in a business/technology setting.
  • An equivalent combination of advanced education, training, and experience will be considered.


The pay range for this position is $79,793.00 to $109,716.00 per year.
