2nd Shift - Press Maintenance Mechanic - Chatsworth, CA

Job Overview

Hubbell is searching for a talented, well-rounded Maintenance Mechanic to work in a highly dynamic facility. Duties for this role include completing assigned changeovers safely and efficiently in support of the department's production goals. The position will be assigned to the Press Department in the 2nd shift to conduct complex mold change overs and support with other emergency breakdown issues in the department. Pay range will be $30-33 per hour, plus receive a 10% shift premium for all hours worked in the 2nd Shift. In addition, as a newly hired employee with the company, you will be eligible to receive a $1000 retention bonus after the 90th day with Hubbell. Health care benefits start on the first of the month following your hire date.

A Day In The Life

  • Complete mold changeovers on hydraulic presses safely, promptly, and correctly
  • Following all Company Safety Policies, completing any immediate repairs and adjustments on molds to allow for efficient runs
  • Assist supervisors, leads, and other mechanics in problem solving equipment issues
  • Act as mechanic lead for preventative maintenance repairs on assigned equipment
  • Recommend and perform upgrades and repairs of equipment
  • Follow production schedules to ensure production downtime is kept to a minimum
  • Communicate and work with other departments of the organization to meet demands or changes that may arise
  • Support Maintenance team during any inspections, installations, preparations, or repairs throughout the facility


What will help you thrive in this role?

  • 5-7 years as a Maintenance Mechanic preferably in manufacturing facility
  • Be familiar with PLCs and their functionalities (no programming exp required)
  • Experience with changeovers in a high pace environment
  • Have strong understanding and knowledge of troubleshooting and diagnosing heavy duty industrial-sized hydraulic machines / presses
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints
  • Must be able to read electrical schematics
  • Excellent communication
  • Detail oriented
  • Trade Certification or Degree from a vocational school will be a plus


Preferred Qualifications



  • Familiarity with Cal/ OSHA regulations within a manufacturing setting
