The Product Strategy Lead for Small Business is responsible for building strategies to help Valley use their resources most efficiently while maintaining a competitive edge in the marketplace, specifically around the small business customer segment. They will develop a comprehensive product strategy, product vision and long-term roadmap that aligns with the company's business objectives and market opportunities.
Monday-Friday 8am-5pm and as needed
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy that aligns with the company's vision, mission, and business objectives.
- Define the overall product strategy for the small business customer base including key objectives, target segments, value proposition and growth plan.
- Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis to identify market gaps, opportunities, and threats.
- Analyze performance metrics and trends for the company's current product offerings.
- Lead the ideation and conceptualization of new products, features and enhancements to address the SMB customer segment needs.
- Communicate product vision to both internal and external stakeholders, building alignment and support.
- Identify partnership opportunities to extend reach and/or capabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize product features, user needs, technical feasibility and business impact to create a robust product roadmap and prioritize initiatives.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to gauge the success of products and make data-driven recommendations for optimization.
Required Skills:
- Ability to set and develop strategic goals and techniques for Valley's brand, and effectively communicate this to all project team members and business lines.
- Demonstrated track record of delivering positive results in project work, including high quality implementations, and cost savings, within time and budgetary constraints.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with a sense of urgency and ability to prioritize.
- Proven ability to reach an audience through effective and clear presentations, writing skills and excellent communication strategies.
- Ability to think strategically and develop innovative ideas.
- Ability to drive execution and adoption for key strategic programs across large team, foster innovation, focus on the customer, collaborate with others, solve problems creatively and demonstrate high integrity.
- Expertise using Microsoft Office applications including MS Project and SharePoint.
- Proven experience in product strategy, product management, or a related role.
- Proven ability to develop and lead the implementation of communications strategy, policy and operational plans, to a successful outcome across a medium or large organization.
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Required Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing or Communications or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of executive support, product development and/or project management.
Preferred Experience:
- Business experience driving execution and adoption of key strategic programs.
