Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for an Engineering or Geology Intern/Co-Op - Summer 2025 in our Kennesaw, GA or Atlanta, GA office. The position offers the opportunity to apply academic knowledge to real-world situations in support of a variety of project delivery needs including contaminated site investigations, soil and groundwater remediation, and remedial system design, while also learning the business skills needed for a successful consulting career. Candidates are responsible for coordinating their own transportation to and from the office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Assist with engineering or geologic/hydrogeologic calculations using computer-based technical tools;
  • Technical writing of reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals;
  • Data input and analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures;
  • Follow instructions and interact with engineers, geologists, office administrative staff, CADD operators (draftsmen), contractors and construction personnel; and
  • Potential for fieldwork such as soil and groundwater sampling, stormwater inspections, drilling and contractor oversight.
  • Develop an understanding of the consulting profession.
  • Local travel or driving to project sites as needed.


Education and Licensure

  • Currently registered in a Bachelor's or Master's university degree program in a relevant discipline. (required)
  • Relevant course work in engineering, GIS, geology, chemistry, mathematics, or geophysics. (preferred)
  • Written authorization to work as required under state laws depending on age. (required)


Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Experience with ArcView, CADD, and/or Microsoft Office. (preferred)
  • Outstanding academic credentials and exceptional interpersonal, technical writing, oral and written communication and problem-solving skills. (required)
  • Health and safety training, including prior completion of the Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training. (preferred)
  • Valid U.S. driver's license, reliable transportation, and satisfactory driving record for business travel to project sites. (required)
