Location:Golisano Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida -9981 S. HealthPark DriveFort Myers FL 33908 Golisano Childrens Hospital of Southwest Florida Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) has over 20 years of service to children with special medical needs in our community. PPEC is located near HealthPark Medical Center & Golisano Children's Hospital campus. The PPEC program provides comprehensive care on a daily basis to children that require nursing care and therapy services. Staffed by nurses with ICU experience and Certified Nurse Assistants, the unit works closely with families and physicians to provide individualized care on a case-by-case basis. The PPEC provides an array of services for children with special medical needs including day health care, developmental planning and interventions, therapies, case management and parent support and education. Transportation services are available for eligible children, which makes it easier for parents to go to work or school each day. The units goal is to make a difference in the life of a child. This position is part-time (2 days per week) between Mon - Fri. 7:00am to 3:30pm The start and end times are variable depending on the department needs. Seeking applicants who are flexible to work the hours needed as late as 5pm. Experienced candidates will be compensated accordingly. Please submit a current resume for best consideration. Per AHCA regulations: Must have one year experience in the care of infants and toddlers. Also provides escort of the children on our bus to and from the center. SummaryProvides patient care duties under the guidance and direction of the nurse. Responsible for implementing components of the plan of care through the initiation/completion of procedures relating to basic human, mental health, social needs, comfort, safety and emergency measures; activities of daily living; personal care needs; nutrition and fluid and elimination needs. May have access to and transport non-controlled medications as directed. RequirementsEducation: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; completion of a State Approved, CNA Education Program required (with at least 120 hours of academic studies and clinical training; 165 hours preferred in Acute Care). Experience: Previous CNA work experience preferred; or new graduate CNA with clinical training. Certification: Proof of American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; current for a minimum of 90 days after hire date. License: Current Florida CNA Certification; or a CNA certification active in another state which is transferrable to obtain Florida certification under reciprocity.
