Element is currently seeking a Full-Time Test Technician for their Materials & Analytical Lab in Warren, Ohio.

The Test Technician will be responsible for performing various tests on automotive components and operating lab-scale plastic processing equipment and material evaluations using benchtop thermal analysis equipment.



Responsibilities

Test Technician - Materials & Analytical Lab Responsibilities:

* Perform root cause analysis on failed test samples and components returned from field failures including warranty, prototypes, etc.
* Operate laboratory equipment and instruments.
* Operate plastic injection mold machine and twin screw extruder.
* Coordinate outside services: calibrations, maintenance, etc.
* Acquire knowledge and proficiency in the use of general and specialized laboratory techniques, equipment, and instrumentation.
* Prepare/dissect test samples.
* Prepare test reports and analytical presentations.



Skills / Qualifications

Test Technician - Materials & Analytical Lab Qualifications:

* Must have 1-3+ years of testing or laboratory experience.
* Minimum of a two-year associate degree in an engineering discipline and/or equivalent experience (Mechanical, Metallurgy, Materials).
* Understanding of material properties.
* Ability to effectively organize, prioritize, and accomplish multiple conflicting tasks - make intelligent, timely decisions, and solve problems independently.
* Effectively works with others.
* Good knowledge of MS Office.
* Good oral and written communication skills.
* Must be willing to work 40-45 hours per week.
