Position Purpose

The SVP, Director of Business Performance and Analysis (BP&A) is an integral part of the finance and accounting team and reports to the CFO. The role will manage the Financial Plan, and continuous forecasting for the Bank. The role works closely with all line of business and shared services leaders analyzing business performance.

Position Responsibilities



  • Develops strategic planning process with CEO, CFO, Line of Business, and Shared Services leaders.
  • Responsible for building and monitoring the annual Financial Plan for all line of business and shared services.
  • Leads the continuous forecasting process for the Bank. Collaborates with business P&L owners and line of business leaders, providing transparency and detailed information for decision making.
  • Develops insightful trend and variance analysis on major KVDs including NIM, Fee%, Efficiency Ratio, ROA, and ROE
  • Develops ad hoc models for business planning including payback and IRR for new investments
  • Works closely with the CFO and Treasurer on stress testing and capital planning.
  • Supports M&A analysis and other Corporate Development initiatives
  • Will provide leadership to the new Planning System implementation project
  • Support quarter-end analysis including participating in the Earnings Release, Investor Presentation, Q&A and other ad hoc analysis
  • Assists in developing board and investor presentations.
  • Conducts peer research as needed for strategy and planning for all areas.
  • Participates in other projects as required.
  • Mentors and coaches direct reports within the team to help develop them for future roles and provide proper succession.
  • Manages performance of the team and conducts performance reviews within the processes of the Bank.


Minimum Education & Experience



  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting/Finance required
  • 7-10 Years of BP&A experience within a financial institution and previous management experience
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail, demonstrated integrity and professionalism



Technical Knowledge and Skills



  • Ability to communicate effectively with executive management and senior leaders on complex issues
  • Experience with financial and accounting reporting systems
  • Experience implementing budgeting and planning systems for like size financial institutions.
