JOB SUMMARY
This position will oversee the Clinical Trial Finance arm of our business within Sponsored Programs Administration (SPA). It is important to have a strong finance and leadership background due to daily tasks which will include training outward facing departments how best to build budgets and the financial management of Clinical Trials, oversight of ClinCard system and vendor relationship as well as IRS filings for this system. The CT Finance team manages revenue related to the booking of various fees for clinical trials. Also analyzes appropriate benchmarks, the identification of trends and variances, and assessment of underlying business practices. Guides team to standardize, create, and produce various monthly tracking and budget reports. May also be involved in the invoicing and/or closeout of clinical trials.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required



  • Education
    Bachelor's Degree In finance, accounting, or related field or


  • Experience
    6 years Experience in finance with demonstration in planning, forecasting, and financial analysis, plus analytical ability to understand complex financial activities of Health System and


Preferred



  • Education
    Master's Degree Business


  • Experience
    Healthcare experience preferred with Master's Degree


JOB DUTIES



  • Provides financial support for all areas of UT Southwestern.
  • Develops multi-year cash flow projections.
  • Identifies areas of financial risk, present findings, and makes recommendations to management.
  • Develops annual forecast of capital needs and manages allocation of funds.
  • Plans, leads, coordinates, and manages budgeting and forecasting activities. Evaluates, prioritizes, assigns and implements capital projects.
  • Manages, directs and plans evaluation of company's financial performance. Develops and recommends actions to achieve company financial objectives.
  • Provides strategic consultation and guidance to management on financial issues, evaluates business proposals and creates recommendations for optimizing financial impact on business initiatives.
  • Manages financial analyst staff.
  • Completes complex projects as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
