Location: University of Oklahoma Medical Center 7W
Shift: Full Time (40 hours weekly/Days)
Medicine Stepdown/Intermediate 7W unit consists of 27 beds, 11 Step Down and 16 Med Surg beds.Medicine Stepdown/Intermediate unit is looking for motivated, compassionate, and disciplined nurses craving a stimulating, learning experience, and a strong team environment! This unit cares for a variety of both lower acuity and complex critically ill patients with multifaceted disease processes requiring higher level of care and closer monitoring. The Medicine Stepdown/Intermediate unit offers a challenging environment where you can develop and enhance your complex nursing skills while making a significant impact on your community! General Description: Under general direction, responsible for the planning, direction and coordination of services to ensure that quality health care is delivered. Essential Responsibilities: Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. General Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications: Education: Graduate of an approved school of nursing. BSN required; Master's level education preferred Experience: Three (3) years of supervisory or charge nurse experience License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC). Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire. ACLS (American Heart Association) required if caring for Step Down patients. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques and procedures. Managerial skills sufficient for organizing, developing and supervising a department and staff. Knowledge of managerial functions such as budgets, statistical measures, report writing, performance improvement tools, etc. Computer literate. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
