PURPOSE Responsible for managing the people, work, and processes of the Estimating Department across multiple locations and product types. Manages daily pricing activities in cooperation with sales management and supply chain. Maximizes estimating resources thru daily and long-term planning. Implements new policies and procedures to further new initiatives. Maintains highest standards of integrity and accuracy throughout entire bidding process. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Supervises the Estimating Department across various locations. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. COMPETENCIES Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of algebraic theory and plane and solid geometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, margins, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Computer Skills: Must be proficient in all Windows Office programs as well as Adobe or Bluebeam. CAD experience or similar, preferred. Design/Estimating Skills: Highly skilled in design and estimating concepts. Expert in interpreting project blueprints. Understanding of current codes and their effect on material usage. Management Skills: Ability to lead teams, create a good working environment, motivate individuals, and implement change. Other Qualifications: Knowledge of wood frame construction. Must demonstrate excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to handle multiple priorities.
