Description
JOB SUMMARY: Operates resistance welder to join metal parts by a series of spot or continuous weld seams in accordance with dimensional specifications on repetitive work where operations and procedures are standardized. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); six to twelve months related experience and/or training to become proficient with procedures, work methods, and requirements for welding quality and quantity; or equivalent combination of education and experience. To perform this job successfully, an individual must have achieved a minimum of 3120 production resistance welding hours, pass a Level 2 resistance welding test, pass a metallographic inspection repeatability and reliability test, and have performed at least 15 machine setups under mentor supervision. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, in English, and interpret documents such as specifications, process control sheets, routings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with other employees of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply shop mathematics, interpret fairly complicated drawings, specifications, and formulas, and demonstrate competence in the use of precision measuring equipment. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
