Convergint is looking for a full-time, results-driven, and forward-thinking Purchasing Lead to join our amazing culture. In this role, you will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and communicating activities of the Purchasing and Invoicing colleagues. Adheres to the ethical standards of Purchasing and Invoicing. Provides work direction and training to the team. Maintains strong partnerships with all Colleagues, Customers and Vendors, meeting product needs on a timely basis. As a Purchasing Lead, you will be part of a dynamic AP team that will enable you to grow as Convergint grows.

What you'll do with "Our Training and Your Experience"

  • Drive processes related to the flow of purchases from needs analysis to invoice payment.
  • Ensure utilization of available inventory items or surplus material by Purchasing Agents.
  • Manage vendors to ensure price competitiveness, inventory levels, quality, on time delivery and key performance indicators are met.
  • Interface with all departments and resolve problems and issues, as necessary.
  • Provide purchasing priorities and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
  • Communicate professionally, persuasively, and personably with Vendors, Customers, and Colleagues via phone and email.
  • Lead Purchasing / Invoicing Coordinators and assists in order entry as needed.
  • Provide continuous training and support to the team taking the lead on new colleagues
  • Reconcile and process purchasing and receiving documents for payment approval to A/P.
  • Trouble shoots failed invoices.
  • Obtain quotes and negotiate costs with vendors.
  • 85% of your time will be daily contribution to solving invoice inaccuracies, 15% leading the team, establishing priorities, validating team's work for accuracy, and coaching.
  • Assist with team lead responsibilities including but not limited to: training, mentoring, coaching and developing colleagues; interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning and directing work.
  • Performs other duties as requested or required.

Requirements:

Education: College degree or equivalent experience

Minimum Experience: 2 years accounting, bookkeeping, purchasing, and/or financial
