We are seeking an experienced Electronic Security Systems Technician to join our federal team supporting the Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX. This role will help support some other bases in the nearby region as well. Our team here is responsible for the maintenance, service, and sustainment of the Electronic Security Systems across the bases, primarily working with Vindicator and Advantor systems. Johnson Controls Federal Systems (JCFS) is a specialized team serving as a trusted partner to the federal government. We help modernize U.S. military installations, Department of Defense and other federal agency facilities to be smarter, more resilient, efficient, sustainable, and secure. Location:Lackland Air Force Base. May help support some other bases in the area at times, but primary work is at Lackland AFB As a Security Technician, you will: * Conduct maintenance and service work of existing Electronic Security Systems (ESS) to include, but not limited to, access controls, intrusion detection, and camera systems. Specific systems primarily include, but not limited to: Vindicator and Advantor systems. * May installs security devices and infrastructure at times in accordance with installation plan according to the national electric code, company and customer guidelines * Assist with security system programming and setup. * Conducts testing to ensure proper operation of equipment after installation or repairs * Conducts testing of system to the signal-receiving center to properly establish service. * Coordinates installations with police/fire departments and handles necessary records for notification of emergency calls. * May help prepare estimates in accordance with prescribed instructions or directions from supervisor * Conduct End-User training. * Works safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials and cleans up installation debris. * Performs other duties as required Required Qualifications: * High School diploma or equivalent * Experience installing, inspecting, troubleshooting and repairing of commercial and/or industrial integrated / electronic security systems for complex low voltage intrusion, access control, CCTV and digital recording systems. * Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics and operational product manuals. * Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, while establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships. * Capable of using hand and power tools to properly mount and secure equipment * Works well unsupervised and also as part of a team environment * Active Department of Defense Secret clearance (or one that was active within the last 2 years). Preferred Qualifications: * Demonstrated proficiency working with Vindicator. * Technical proficiency working with fiber and networks * Proficiency working with a variety of commercial and/or industrial camera systems, preferably with Lenel, Advator, and others.
