We are hiring a CNC Programmer. This position is responsible for continuous improvement and daily problem solving within production through close collaboration between operations leadership and associated technical resources.
The CNC Programmer will be assigned to specific manufacturing areas associated with the Post Bond Machining and Shim departments. The candidate will be responsible for providing extensive machining knowledge and experience to the department. The role is focused on support and technical leadership in achieving our plant goals within the WIN Strategy. This position requires a self-motivated and organized individual with strong problem solving and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities are:
- The candidate is responsible for promoting a Safety-First workplace, encouraging the identification and supporting the closure of opportunities for safety improvements.
- The candidate's primary responsibility is to continually improve the post bond machining and shim processes, with a focus on product quality, manufacturing lead time and product cost. This includes the development of new methods and practices for manufacturing and tooling concepts.
- The candidate is responsible for manufacturing documentation, including manufacturing instructions, frozen planning control systems, flow-down from customer and regulatory agencies for all applicable specifications.
- The candidate shall embrace collaboration and partnership with Operations, Quality, and Product Development teams to maintain a continuous improvement (Lean) mindset to achieve Zero Defects through product and process robustness.
- The candidate must maintain disciplined cross-functional compliance to product development processes and associated deliverables.
- The candidate is expected to provide leadership with Root Cause and Corrective Actions of manufacturing stops and other associated quality issues to drive to a zero defects quality issue.
Required Experience:
- High school diploma and 10-15 years of related manufacturing experience.
- Proficiency in inspection methods, GD&T, and product testing. Must be capable of communicating ideas and instructions with Parker Lord internal teams.
- The position also requires a solid "hands-on" mechanical background with experience and understanding of fundamental machining and manufacturing methods.
- Demonstrated problem solving and leadership skills.
- Ability to set-up a CNC machine.
- Extensive CNC programming experience and ability to plan a machining strategy for a part drawing.
- Ability to effectively interact and contribute in a team environment. The candidate is expected to maintain focus on engaged people, customer experience, profitable growth, and financial performance, through successful implementation of The Win Strategy within their goals and objectives.
- Must be willing to travel 10% of the time to other Parker LORD facilities, customers or suppliers.
Preferred Experience:
- Knowledge of General Cost Accounting Practices
- Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or Industrial Engineering
- SAP experience
- 3DExperience Enovia experience
