Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our dynamic Talent Project Management team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing complex projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. The Senior Project Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive project success and align with strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

Project Planning and Execution:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables.

  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.

  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, stakeholders, and team members.

  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders and executive management.

  • Facilitate project meetings and provide regular updates to all stakeholders.

Risk Management:

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues.

  • Develop contingency plans to address potential project challenges.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and motivate project teams, ensuring clarity of roles and responsibilities.

  • Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative environment.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and expectations.

  • Conduct post-project evaluations and identify areas for improvement.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and meeting minutes.

  • Track project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in project management, with a proven track record of managing complex projects.

  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Wrike).

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.

Compensation Range:

Pay Range - Start:

$76,650.00

Pay Range - End:

$142,350.00

Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. At Northwestern Mutual, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Please note that the salary range listed in the posting is the standard pay structure. Positions in certain locations (such as California) may provide an increase on the standard pay structure based on the location.
