Position Overview: The Wealth Management Intern will gain hands-on experience in wealth management and financial planning within a professional banking environment. This structured 10-week internship offers exposure to investment strategies, portfolio management, and client relationship management while applying academic knowledge to real-world financial advisory scenarios. This role will contribute to meaningful projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and develop a foundational understanding of private banking and wealth management services. Essential Functions:
- Participate in job shadowing with
experienced Wealth Advisors, Portfolio Managers, and Trust Officers to gain a comprehensive understanding of wealth management practices. - Support client portfolio reviews by
gathering relevant financial data and assisting in the preparation of reports and recommendations. - Assist in conducting market research
and analysis to help identify investment opportunities for client portfolios. - Collaborate with team members on the
preparation and delivery of client presentations and financial plans. - Gain exposure to financial planning
tools and software, including portfolio performance reporting and risk analysis. - Support the administrative processing
of account openings, maintenance requests, and transaction monitoring. - Attend team meetings, training
sessions, and client events to understand the client service experience within wealth management. - Participate in special projects related
to investment strategy, estate planning, and wealth transfer solutions. - Assist in developing marketing
materials and client communications as directed by Wealth Management leadership. - Maintain strict confidentiality
regarding client data and internal bank operations. - This position may require travel within
the Bank's geographic area.
Experience & Education:
- Must be entering the junior or senior year of an accredited undergraduate program.
- Currently enrolled in a degree program focused on business, finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher is required.
- A professional letter of recommendation is preferred.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong
verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with clients, team members, and leadership. - Proficiency
in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with the ability to conduct financial data analysis and create reports. - Basic
understanding of investment principles, financial markets, and wealth management strategies. - Strong
analytical skills with a detail-oriented mindset and a focus on accuracy. - Eagerness
to learn and adapt to new systems, tools, and financial planning methodologies. - Professional
demeanor, with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of client confidentiality and ethical behavior. - Ability
to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team. - Strong
interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
Other Requirements:
- Availability to commit to the full 10-week internship program.
- Willingness to adhere to Broadway Bank's core values and maintain the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
- Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 10 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Occasional overtime or extended hours may be required.
