SPECIAL NOTICE REGARDING THE WORK LOCATION OF THIS POSITION-Although WestEd provides the option of working at one of its facilities for employees, many roles allow employees to choose to work remotely for their own convenience. Core Focus Areas:



  • Facilitating communication through cross-system collaboration and partnership.
  • Project planning (work plan, community engagement), and Community engagement.


Responsibilities:



  • Facilitating communication through cross-system collaboration and partnership.
  • Project planning (work plan, community engagement) and Community engagement.
  • Quarterly meetings with BIE, school staff, volunteers, and counsel (BIE, Plaintiffs).
  • Recruit Native language and culture instructors and volunteers.
  • Support recruitment of school maintenance workers.
  • Support engagement with institutions of higher education to identify resources to enhance the education of HES students.
  • Coordination with Tribe regarding public health.
  • Gather information from school staff about needed support and communicate to BIE.
  • Consult with Tribe to determine the viability of increased internet accessibility.
  • Assist the BIE in developing a textbook review committee and support drafting progress reports (six months).


Required Qualifications:



  • Direct experience in tribal school leadership, tribal government leadership, and tribal cultural preservation leadership.


Other Skills:



  • Proven skill in facilitating positive communication in complex political environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to act calmly and swiftly in a crisis - de-escalation skills.



Hourly Rate: $79.80
*Note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Successful candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
