- Lead a team of Optum Health sales executives accountable for growing solutions in the employer market aligned to Optum Behavioral Health Solutions
- Accountable for implementing and executing Optum Health's growth strategies for team to achieve sales quota and incremental growth for Optum Behavioral Health Solutions' capabilities
- Accountable for executing Optum Health's growth strategies to achieve sales quota and incremental growth for Optum Health Solutions
- Work closely with Office of the Employer Market leaders and their teams to drive growth execution at the leadership level, influencing to remove roadblocks and building strategic approaches to win, focused on sales efforts aligned to solving client needs and strategic objectives for the Whole Health Solutions (WHS) business
- Drive growth and expand collaboration with shared services partners including marketing, underwriting and pricing, proposals, finance and external vendor partners aligned to WHS as needed
- Develop, coach, and manage solution sales executives to achieve goals and objectives
- Act as key point of contact for WHS employer channel and product partners, sharing pipeline updates, market insights, pressures, product, and win/loss feedback to business stakeholders to solve client needs, meet market demand and drive growth
- Remove roadblocks, solution creatively, innovate and engage Optum decision makers and channel executives on an opportunity by opportunity basis and at scale to solve thematic loss challenges and create momentum around win themes, achieving in year and YOY outsized growth results
- Cultivate and deepen client relationships to support employer market client executive teams in Optum and UHC and act as voice of the market/voice of the customer into the WHS business
- Build, develop and maintain excellent working and partnership relationships with UHC employer growth, product, marketing and leadership teams
- Communicate and present effectively at multiple audiences and levels (listening, written and verbal communication)
- Travel for client engagements, finalist meetings and consultant engagements aligned to opportunities or market focused growth efforts as needed (approximately 10-20% of time)

- 7+ years of sales and account management or commensurate Optum Health product / business / solution experience
- 7+ years of proven experience and expertise in the health insurance, health care or related industry
- 3+ years of sales leadership experience with ability to successfully coach, develop and support a team culture of growth and retention
- Experience building and managing strategic client and vendor relationships
- Deep understanding of sales process and ability navigate and manage complex sales, solutioning and RFP process to facilitate and remove roadblocks (for sales/client executives) to close sales
- Keen self-awareness, ability to receive and deliver difficult feedback aligned to development for self and team, manage through conflict with grace and professionalism, and a deep desire to develop personally and professionally at work
- Ability to navigate, collaborate and lead in a complex, matrixed and fast paced organization, often with significant ambiguity
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in managing and achieving greater than $200M+ contract value sales growth annually in a health care ecosystem, preferably in behavioral or physical health solutions
- Work experience managing client team and clients in employer market
- Experience leading teams on a national level
- Proficiency in CRM tools (ex. Salesforce) and sales methodology
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Power Point
- Demonstrated success in accessing and influencing senior level and/or C-Suite clients, sophisticated customers, channels, consultants, and/or business partners in a highly matrixed organization
- Proven track record for achieving target revenue, incremental growth and sales goals or commensurate P&L experience
*All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy. The salary range for this role is $130,000 to $240,000 annually based on full-time employment. Role is also eligible to receive bonuses based on sales performance.
