Sentara Health is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as a Team Coordinator, Medical Staff Affairs

Position Status: Full-time, Day Shift

Position Location: This position is Hybrid position with required on-site work in Norfolk, Virginia several times a week

Position Summary:

The Team Coordinator position hires, trains, educates and mentors Medical Staff Coordinators. Ensures that coordinators are utilizing resources appropriately to achieve the highest level of efficiency and reliability.

Responsible for managing key medical staff processes to ensure that they are efficient and thorough, as well as consistent and non duplicative across medical staffs. Manages high risk, high profile medical staff processes, such as formal investigations and corrective actions. Promotes consistency and collaboration among medical staffs in privileging systems, governing document maintenance and the use of the physician database.

Standard Working Hours: 8:00AM to 5:00PM (ET).

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors Level Degree preferred
  • Medical Staff Coordinator experience--3 years minimum
  • Excellent Verbal and Written skills
  • Medical Staff experience, hospital experience
  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) required; Certified Professional Medical Staff Management (CPMSM) preferred.
