Department: Walton Personal Philanthropy Group
Reporting to: Senior Manager, Grant Operations
Location:Bentonville, Arkansas

Walton Personal Philanthropy Group, a subsidiary of Walton Enterprises, seeks a data-driven, analytical, and results-oriented Manager, Financial and Operations Data to join our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of financial data from multiple sources, providing comprehensive reports and insights to drive informed decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a background in accounting and financial reporting, with experience leveraging technology to analyze and communicate data insights.

About the Position

Benefits Information

Compensation Range: $95,000 - $119,000

Benefits Information: We offer a comprehensive and generous benefits package which includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k)-retirement plan and paid time off.

Responsibilities

What you will do

The primary duties of the Operations and Financial Data Manager include daily data validation, ensuring accuracy and reliability by performing data quality checks to identify and resolve inconsistencies or anomalies. Additionally, the role involves transforming complex datasets into customized, comprehensive reports and collaborating closely with software engineers and other internal teams to develop robust and project-specific data solutions.

Essential Responsibilities:

Financial Analysis, Budgeting, and Data Validation and Integrity:

    Conduct financial analyses related to sources and uses of philanthropic funding.
  • Review balance sheets and ensure accuracy.
  • Understand and validate billings from shared service providers.
  • Collaborate to build reporting tools (e.g., SQL Server Reporting Services and PowerBI) to assist in creating customized reports and analyses.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with financial goals.
  • Design and implement rigorous data validation processes to ensure the accuracy and consistency of large datasets from multiple, disparate sources.
  • Perform thorough data quality checks and identify inconsistencies or anomalies, addressing issues proactively to maintain data integrity.

Requirements Gathering and Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with department leaders and the Senior Operations Manager to understand and support information needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advocate for and align internal data structures and systems with our team's financial tracking and reporting requirements.
  • Analyze data to provide actionable insights and recommendations to leadership, presenting findings concisely and impactfully to facilitate decision-making.

Qualifications required for your success

  • 5+ years of full-time professional experience, preferably in an accounting role
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively across functional teams to obtain needed information and package it in a user-friendly way.
  • Strong proficiency with various technology platforms, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Familiar with SQL, database management (e.g., SQL server databases), and data visualization tools (PowerBI, etc.)
  • Experience validating large datasets from multiple sources.
  • Knowledge of business intelligence practices and data warehouse processes
